New addition to the home

Due to the amount of home invasions and car invasions that have been taking place in our area lately, my husband and I decided to invest in a home alarm system. The one we ended up going with wasn't all that expensive, but I think it will get the job done. Never in a million years would I have thought that we would need one of these systems, but it just goes to show you how messed up our world has become these days. Now that we have the system up and running, I do feel safer. I'm just a little sad that it had to come down to this.

Great weekend!

As I posted before, this past Saturday was my 41st birthday. And fun was had by all. It was a great weekend. Although I did have to work Saturday and Sunday, I still got to spend a lot of quality time with my husband and kids. So I was really happy with the way the weekend turned out. See, getting older really isn't that bad. As I always like to say, "Your only as old as you feel". And this weekend, I certainly didn't feel 41.

A birthday coming up

Well next Saturday, May 9 just happens to be my birthday. Then on Sunday, May 10 we will be celebrating Mother's day. So this means two days of eating for me. If the kids had their way, we would be eating out so much those two days that I would seriously need to invest in a diet pill by the end of the weekend. But my birthday and mother's day only comes once a year so I guess I'll just have to take whatever the family throws at me now won't I?? It's a good thing that I don't gain weight very easily, or I could be in some serious problems.

Minor accident

Yesterday I thought I would be pretty smart and do a little rearranging in the spare room. I decided to move all the boxes of wood flooring out to the porch. But I didn't realize how heavy these stupid boxes were. Well when I picked up the first box of flooring, it broke apart and I had seven pieces of wood fall on my foot. Let me tell you all, that this event was not a pleasant one. So after this little mishap, I set the wood aside and left it for my husband to take care of. I guess sometimes it is better not to do the work myself. My foot is still a little sore this morning, but I think I'm going to make it.

Lots of spring cleaning done today

Early this morning I decided to get started on my spring cleaning once again. The room I chose to tackle was my daughter's room. And I have to say. What a mess. So far I've gone through all her clothes in her dresser and her closet. The next thing I'm going to do is all the dusting. I even have to dust the bed wedges. I've never seen a girl as messy as this kid is. My two boys weren't even this bad. Hopefully when I'm finally finished she will appreciate all my hard work and try to keep it like this for a little while. Doubtful I know. But, a person can always hope now can't they?!

One month to go

Wow it's almost here. And that would be camping season. We have all waited a very long time to get back in the swing of things. And I honestly was starting to wonder if spring and summer were ever going to arrive. But spring finally has and in a month's time, the camping parks will be open for the season. So, that gives me an entire month to decide if I need to invest in some diet pills that work before I need to haul out the bathing suit. But other than that, I am more than ready for the camping season to finally get underway.

Newest member of the family

Last night after my husband came home from work, we took the kids out to the pet store and purchased them a brand new pet. This newest member of the family is a hamster and his name is Speedy. The kids have been driving this little guy nuts by staring at him, talking to him and taking pictures of him with their camcorder. I'm sure that once the little guy is in our home for a little while their fascination with him will wear off and maybe this little guy will get some peace. But, until then, he will have to put up with all the loving that they want to throw his way.
